Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve.

About SBWR.

The richness of the mangroves were once harvested by prawn and fish farmers at Sungei Buloh. Since January 2002, Sungei Buloh has been protected as a nature reserve in recognition of the valuable biodiversity that it harbours. It is a member of the East Asian-Australasian Flysway Partership and Singapore's first Heritage Park.


Okay people, it's confirmed. (: We will be going to Sungei Buloh for hiking. The details are...

Date : 8th December 2009
Time : 8.30am at Choachukang station.
Attire : Neutral. ( Preferably Black or White )

The hike will be about 5-6 hours long. Please bring sufficient water .
For the attire, please only wear neutral colour tee-shirt,
You dont want to attract some kind of animals ah!

You're advised to wear comfortable shoes that are suitable for hiking.
School shoes would be fine. Sports shoes recommended.

Things to bring, COMPULSORY.

• Water
• Insect Repellent
• Handphone
• Poncho / Umbrella.
• 50 cent admission fee.
  

Optional items.

• Binoculars
• Extra money
• Hat

You might also want to bring your own food there. But of course not eat it when hiking. The food from the cafeteria there costs. Nasi Lemak + Ice Lemon Tea = $6.90. Chicken Chop $7.90. The vending machine there for drinks cost about $1.70.

You would be further divided into 3 groups, of course.
You guys will be able to draw out numbers - 1 , 2 or 3.
Which stands for different organizer/leader to lead you guys along the hike.

IMPORTANT *

Of course, Sungei Buloh is not a place for fun and laughters.
Please do not disturb the animals. (:
There are some rules to follow. (:

• No poaching
• No fishing
• No vandalism (exp. XXX was here on 8-12-09)
  
• No setting of fire
• No pets
• No radio/loud hailer/musical instruments (do not blast music from your mp3/hphone)
  
• No bicycle/tricycle
• No releasing of animals
• No smoking
• No littering
• No plucking of leaves and flowers
• Be as quiet as possible
• Keep to walking trails

Take nothing but photographs
Leave nothing but footprints

In cases of thunderstorms,
organizers will bring their members to the nearest Observation Hides.
